Margaret "Marti" Miles Bluestein
Margaret "Marti" Miles Bluestein graduated from Furman University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1993 and began working with Suggs & Kelly as an associate. She founded Bluestein & Nichols with John Nichols in 2000. Marti practices exclusively in the area of Workers’ Compensation, where she fights to protect the rights of injured workers.
Marti is a 1996 graduate of Leadership Columbia and an active volunteer with the South Carolina Bar Pro Bono program. She serves in the role of treasurer as an executive committee member of Injured Workers' Advocates. She also serves as a council member of the South Carolina Bar Association's Workers' Compensation section. She was named the American Board of Trial Advocates South Carolina Chapter Young Lawyer of the Year in 2001. Since 2005, she has also served as a board member for the South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center.
In addition to membership in both the South Carolina Bar and Richland County Bar Associations, Marti is also a member of the American Association for Justice, the South Carolina Association for Justice and the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association.
Away from the office, Marti is the proud mother of three children. She enjoys being involved in their numerous activities. Marti is active in her church and loves to travel and read in her spare time.
